Robert Ralston, who resided in Franklin Township for 60 years, died this morning at the advanced age of 89 years.  He was highly esteemed by his neighbors and was a good citizen.

A more thorough obituary appeared in the Richland Shield & Banner dated 13 July 1895 (Vol. LXXVIII, No. 9), as follows:

DIED -- Robert Rallston was born in Lancaster County, Pa., January 1, 1806, died June 27, 1895, aged 89 years and 27 days.

He was married to Elizabeth Maxon, February 7, 1833, and moved to Ohio the same year, when he settled on the same quarter section on which he died.  There were twelve children, eight daughters and four sons.  Two sons, three daughters and the bereaved widow yet remain to mourn.  There were twenty-three grandchildren, eighteen of whom are yet living.  He was a good citizen, much respected by his neighbors.  His long life came suddenly to a close after only a few hour's sickness.  Rev. N.H. Loose of Shelby officiated at the funeral services, which were largely attended by sympathizing neighbors and friends.
